An Update on Our Efforts to Help Cities During COVID-19

As a second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic continues to disrupt daily life for all of us, the team at Bird is committed to mitigating the impact of reduced transportation and services in cities around the world.

Here are the steps we’re taking to help keep communities healthy and essential workers mobile during this challenging time.

Operations

We know that reliable, socially-distant transportation is still essential during the pandemic. That’s why we’re committed to keeping a fleet of our scooters available in all of our partner cities. To keep our vehicles and our team members safe, we’ll be continuing to follow the sanitization protocols that were put in place this spring at the onset of the COVID outbreak.

Communication

We’re increasing our email and in-app outreach efforts to ensure that Bird riders and city partners stay informed about any changes to our service. This includes updates on operations, initiatives to help bolster the local economy and reduced or free pricing programs.

Participation

Micromobility can do so much more than provide safe, sustainable transportation. That’s why, in many of our partner cities, we’re once again rolling out COVID-related campaigns including free rides for medical personnel and in-app highlights of local restaurants that are serving takeout and delivery options. To sign up, simply email a copy of your medical identification card along with your name and phone number to together@bird.co. Eligible riders will receive two free 30-minute rides per day for as long as it takes to help our communities recover from this global health crisis.

To help make essential trips easier and more accessible for everyday riders, we’ve recently launched a host of initiatives including an expanded Community Pricing Program, a new suite of Ride Pass options and automatic discounts of up to 40% through an exclusive partnership with Revolut.

The entire Bird team remains focused on providing you and those in your community a clean, safe and reliable transportation option during the second wave of the pandemic.

Thank you and stay safe.
