Bird Canada Records Another Record-Breaking Year in 2025

Bird Team

2025 was a landmark year for Bird Canada. Across our Canadian markets, riders took more trips, explored more cities, and demonstrated that micromobility has become a genuine part of how Canadians get around.

Record Ridership Across the Country

Bird Canada saw its highest-ever annual ridership in 2025, surpassing previous records set in 2024. Rides per vehicle per day — the key operational metric in shared micromobility — climbed in every city we operate, a sign that our vehicles are being used consistently throughout the day and not just during peak hours.

The growth wasn’t limited to a single market. Cities across Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia all contributed to the national record, with several municipalities seeing year-over-year ridership growth well into the double digits.

Longer Seasons, More Riders

One of the most notable trends in 2025 was the extension of the riding season. Thanks to a combination of mild weather and growing rider familiarity with cold-weather riding, we saw strong ridership well into November in several markets — a pattern that would have been unusual just a few years ago.

Bird’s cold-weather hardware improvements have also played a role. Our latest vehicles perform more reliably at lower temperatures, giving riders confidence to choose Bird even when it’s not a summer afternoon.

Looking Ahead to 2026

We’re entering 2026 with momentum. New partnerships, expanded service areas, and continued investment in the rider experience position Bird Canada well for another strong year. As more cities recognize micromobility as a critical part of their transportation infrastructure, we expect the growth to continue.

Thank you to every rider, partner, and city that helped make 2025 a record year.
