Calgary lights up every summer, not just with longer days but with the freedom they bring—the chance to get out and explore the amazing landscapes and incredible attractions that make the city so unique and vibrant. Festival crowds spill into the streets from Prince’s Island Park or Fort Calgary, parades roll down 9th Avenue, and neighborhoods buzz with markets, music, and celebration.
This year, Bird Canada was proud to be part of that rhythm—helping people move through the city with ease and making these events and attractions even more accessible for Calgarians to enjoy.
Over 450,000 Calgarians have chosen to ride Bird since the city launched its micromobility program five years ago. And this summer alone, nearly 460,000 rides brought people closer to the places and moments that make Calgary shine.

Festivals, Parades, and Community Spirit
From Stampede to Pride, Bird Canada’s fleet of shared e-scooters and e-bikes helped commuters cut through traffic, free up much-needed parking downtown, and make the city more accessible for everyone who wanted to get outside.
During Stampede alone, more than 70,000 rides helped keep the celebration moving—whether it was concertgoers heading to the new Cowboys Park tent or rodeo fans chasing rides on the midway.
Bird Canada was also thrilled to partner with Calgary Pride. Our decorated Bird Trike rolled along with the parade, our team handed out fun giveaways to kids, and we offered promo codes and discounts for everyone who attended.
It wasn’t just the big festivals like Country Thunder either. Night markets in Bridgeland and Inglewood, mural tours all over downtown for the BUMP Festival, and easier access to all of the incredible Sled Island venues we partnered with—Bird vehicles were always tucked neatly nearby, ready for anyone who wanted to keep the evening going without worrying about parking or traffic.

Small Rides, Big Impact
This summer was also a demonstration of how micromobility can give back to the community. On United Way Day, Calgarians raised over $3,500 simply by hopping on a Bird, with each ride turning into a $1 donation for local programs tackling poverty, mental health, and isolation.
It was a wonderful reminder of how small actions—like choosing a scooter over a car—can add up to something meaningful.
Safety Always
Behind the fun, safety remained front and center. Bird staff handed out hundreds of helmets, shared tips at community events, and rolled out cutting-edge in-app tools like Rider Score to reward our users for responsible riding.
Every effort brought Calgary closer to its Vision Zero goal of safer streets for everyone.

Looking Ahead
As summer turns to fall, Bird is grateful to be part of Calgary’s story—helping people move more freely, sustainably, and joyfully through the city.
As the exclusive provider of services for the University of Calgary, we’re proud to help students scoot back and forth, and we continue to be available for anyone commuting in and out of downtown from nearby communities like Kensington, Marda Loop, or Mission.
September doesn’t always mean the end of summer in Calgary, which means that no matter where in the city you’re headed, chances are Bird will be around to help you get there. So grab your Bird+ pass, and we’ll see you in the streets.
