Finding the right career opportunity is stressful enough in normal times—and recently, things have been anything but normal.
That’s the bad news. The good news is that, at Bird, we’ve adapted our recruitment process to help make sure you’re comfortable and prepared when it comes to deciding whether or not you’d like to share your skills, passion and experience with us!
Let’s start with the basics.
Discovering the Right Role at Bird
We’ve designed our Careers Page to help make it easy for you to get to know our team and see if we might be the right fit for you. Learn about the application process, employee benefits and life at Bird in just a few clicks. Then whenever you’re ready, quickly scan through our job openings and apply!
Preparing for Your Virtual Interview
If we’re lucky enough to hear from you and your application catches our eye, our recruitment process will typically follow these steps:
- An introductory chat with a Bird recruiter to get to know more about you and answer any of your questions
- A follow up call with a hiring manager for more in-depth conversations about roles and responsibilities
- An assignment (business or technical) to get to know your working style
- A final panel interview to really drill down on the opportunities and challenges we’ll need your help tackling
Despite not meeting in person, interviewing remotely isn’t all that different. As a candidate, you’ll still need to prepare thoroughly (pro tip: browse our Bird Cities Blog to see what’s been going on recently at Bird and around the industry), demonstrate knowledge of the role in question, show us your motivation for improving urban mobility and, of course, look presentable (at least from the waist up).
Getting to Know Us (Yes, Even Remotely)
Virtual recruitment is new for a lot of us, so don’t worry about feeling a little anxious. Our team will ensure that you know what to expect from your very first call, and we’re more than happy to share our honest experiences with you not only about the benefits and challenges of working from home but also about how we’re all staying virtually connected with one another.
We like to invite members from our Culture Mission Team and ERGs to participate in the interview process as well. This helps give you as wide a view as possible about Bird’s company goals and our driving mission to create healthier, more liveable cities.
Ready to Get Going?
We’re honored that you’ve taken both the time to read about Bird and an interest in sharing your skill set with us to help improve city life around the world. If you’re ready to get started building your potential career here at Bird, head over to our Careers Page and see what roles are available.
We’re looking forward to hearing from you!
