Bird Roll to the Polls 2022 Gets Started in Advance of November Midterms

Bird is helping riders in the US Roll to the Polls in advance of the November, 2022 midterm elections.

In states like Oregon, Idaho and Kentucky, Bird riders on Tuesday, May 17 were able to receive a free 30-minute ride to or from their local polling place using code VOTE2022. The initiative is designed to help more citizens cast their ballot in local primary and general elections.

“We know that our scooters and bikes, in addition to being a reliable everyday transportation alternative to gas-powered cars, can help improve voting access and voter turnout in our partner cities,” said Brian Buccella, Senior Vice President of Global Policy at Bird. “We’ve historically seen ridership climb as high as 390% in some places on election day thanks to our Roll to the Polls program, and we’re honored to be able to offer it again in 2022.”

Roll to the Polls will continue to run throughout election season this year in various Bird partner cities. Riders are encouraged to check the Bird app for details on how to benefit from this free ride voting initiative.

The program also extends beyond the borders of the US, with similar election day free ride initiatives being offered nationwide in countries like Italy, Portugal, Germany and most recently France.
