Fortunately for riders in the US who depend on Bird for sustainable short distance transportation, a series of recent permit extensions and fleet increases is helping us do just that.
In cities including Portland, OR, Long Beach, CA and Decatur, GA, Bird has received recent permit extensions that will allow us to continue operating well into 2022. Such increases are vital to ensuring uninterrupted mobility services as we work together with officials to inform sensible regulations that will allow micromobility to thrive in the long term.
Simultaneously, our allotted fleet size is growing in many of our US markets as well. These include Durham, NC, Isla Vista, CA and Arlington, VA, where Bird was recently awarded the highest score of all micro-EV service providers in the city. Strategic fleet increases like these are an excellent way for cities to reward and encourage trusted e-scooter and e-bike operators.

A Growing Trend of Service Increases for Bird in 2022
The recent fleet increases and permit extensions are the most recent example of Bird’s expanding global service area.
In the past few weeks alone, new launches in France, Spain, Italy, Portugal and the Netherlands, as well as an exclusive mass transit partnership with WeGo in Nashville, TN, have set the groundwork for a record setting year for Bird micromobility.
