Bird’s Guide to San Antonio

With so much to do, see, eat and enjoy, we’re not entirely sure you can do it all in just one trip, but here are some crowd favorites within Birding distance!
Caffeine Fix
Start your day off at White Elephant Coffee to get your morning fuel for a full day of sightseeing. You can even see them roasting their own beans…you know that will be a good cup of jo.
For caffeine and sweet treat, check out Bakery Lorraine, known for its colorfully cute pastries. They also make a mean cup of coffee to go with your Parisian macarons.
Eat like a local.
For an afternoon pick-me-up, Bird over to South Alamode Panini & Gelato Company, located downtown. Their gelato is made fresh daily, with locally-sourced ingredients and their paninis have meats and cheeses imported directly from Italy- yum.
You can’t make a trip to the south without experiencing the incredible cuisine. Mr. A Ok’s Kitchen has all the southern classics; chicken fried steak, collard greens, and finish off your meal with the banana bread pudding.
Explore the city.
While there is no Birding on The River Walk, it’s a must-see while you’re visiting San Antonio. A historical landmark, including everything from culture, nightlife, shopping, and dining.
Get yourself some culture at ArtPace, the contemporary art museum that will fascinate you. ArtPace is free and open to the public, with nine rotating artists per year from all over the world.
Be sure to check out the Blue Star Arts Complex, considered the “Anchor” of art in San Antonio. Boasting with curated places to live, eat, and create the Blue Star Contemporary Museum hosts 30,000 visitors a year.
