Got €1? That’s all you’ll need to take a 15-minute Bird ride in Germany this week.
The discounted rides, which are available in more than a dozen cities throughout the country, kick off Bird’s new Frequent Flyer Program designed to help encourage Germans to get out of cars and onto sustainable electric scooters.
The concept is simple: as riders accrue enough trips on Bird over a 28-day period, they’ll automatically be enrolled in one of three corresponding rewards categories. Each level (Silver, Gold, Platinum) adds additional perks, from increasing percentage discounts on every ride to free reservations and premium support.
“Bird fully support’s Germany’s push towards clean transportation, and our Frequent Flyer Program is designed to help the country move closer to achieving its sustainability goals,” said Patrick Studener, Head of Bird in EMEA. “We’re giving 15 minute rides for €1 all week to anyone who downloads or has the Bird app. With the summer settling in, it’s a perfect time to leave the car at home and experience the season on a Bird electric scooter.”
The €1/15 minute Bird rides are available this week in Berlin, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Essen, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hannover, Heidelberg, Karlsruhe, Köln, Ludwigshafen, Mannheim and Munich. Don’t worry if your trip is particularly lengthy: a local per minute fee will be applied after 15 minutes for those who’d like to keep riding without interruption. Our new Frequent Flyer program in Germany is being launched amid increasing scooter ridership throughout Europe and North America. As confinement measures continue to lift, cities are looking to reduce automobile pollution and create more street space for pedestrians and micromobility riders to safely socially distance.
