Bird and Moovit Team Up to Increase Access to Multimodal Transportation

Improving mobility in cities starts with increasing access to sustainable, multimodal transportation options.

That’s exactly why Bird has teamed up with Moovit, a leading Mobility as a Service (MaaS) solutions provider, to make it easier to access our micro-electric vehicles. Now riders in 65 cities around the world will be able to locate our eco-friendly scooters and bikes in real time using Moovit’s leading urban mobility app.

“Offering more alternative forms of transport that can easily get people to their destination is a critical component of any Mobility as a Service platform,” said Yovav Meydad, Moovit’s Chief of Growth and Marketing Officer. “That’s why we are excited to partner with Bird. From Canterbury to Cologne, riders can combine micromobility with public transport to enjoy the most convenient ways of getting around, especially in some of the most congested cities in the world.”

The integration is currently available in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, with plans to include U.S. cities.

Moovit, which has already served more than one billion people globally, will show its users in real-time the location of nearby Bird vehicles along with additional helpful information such as battery charge and walking distance to each scooter or bike. Our two teams will also be collaborating on urban mobility research together to gain insights into mobility trends that will help us better serve local communities.

The announcement comes shortly after Bird launched a revolutionary free integration between our shared scooter platform and local bikeshare service providers as part of our industry-first Smart Bikeshare Program
