Safety is Bird’s #1 priority. To ensure riders and community members are protected, Bird has partnered with the leading insurance providers in micromobility. This insurance means that in the unfortunate event of an accident, Bird’s got you covered.
In all countries where Bird operates, we have insurance coverage for bodily injury and property damage sustained by riders caused by Bird. This coverage is provided at no additional cost to riders.
Motor / Rider’s liability coverage
In most EMEA and APAC countries, Bird provides insurance coverage to a rider for bodily injuries caused by the rider to other persons, such as pedestrians and bike riders. Riders are also insured for damage they cause to other persons’ property resulting from use of Bird vehicles. This coverage is provided at no additional cost to riders.
In most EMEA and APAC countries, Bird provides coverage for bodily injuries that result from riding a Bird vehicle, even if it is due to the rider’s own mistake and not caused by a Bird vehicle. This coverage is provided at no additional cost to riders.

What to do if you’re in an accident
- Check to make sure you and anyone else involved are safe and out of harms way.
- Contact local emergency personnel or medical providers as needed.
- Contact Bird customer support through channels in the app, emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, or by giving us a call.
